Q3 2024 Performance Bonus & 70,000+ Orders Shipped
With the changing weather and early sunsets, July, August, and September may feel like a lifetime ago. Fortunately for us, those months are worth a quick revisit as we saw a great return to form across all areas of production and customer experience. The equipment installs that dragged production were dialed in and became the resources we believed they would be. We were able to begin reshaping the Lab for the addition of more equipment and added efficiency. Also, we successfully and smoothly moved a large number of TMs to the Ave, a highly necessary expansion that will clearly give us the added production floor space needed to keep improving and growing.
From a numbers standpoint we averaged over 3,000 jobs per day July-September, including a new high-water mark of 3139 per day in September! Lab Remake rates returned to form, and the days per job started an excellent trend toward our world-class pace. There is no doubt that our customers love having their eyewear made correctly and quickly – heck, who wouldn’t!?!
I’m confident there were a lot of other positives that took place, but I have other great news to share with you. So, let’s get to the good part - For Q3, full-time employees who contributed to achieving these results will receive a $1,000 Performance Bonus. Part-time employees or employees who were here for 2 of the 3 months will receive a $400 Performance Bonus. This brings the YTD Performance Bonus totals to $2,250/$850, with one quarter remaining. And, if October is any indicator of Q4 – we’re in for a dandy! Speaking of October…
We did something in October 2024 that we’ve never done before, a milestone worth celebrating. In October, we shipped over 70,000 orders—70,568 to be exact! That’s a big deal! For reference, September 2024 was our biggest per-day month at 3139, but since there were fewer business days in September, the total came out to 62,773. October’s 23 business days, combined with some excellent productivity achievements, led to this massive total.
In recognition of our excellent achievement in October 2024, all full-time employees employed for 75%+ of the month will receive an additional day of PTO! The PTO day will be added to your total available hours and must be used by the end of your anniversary year. As a note, the P in PTO is paid, not personal. Let’s not confuse the two terms. Paid Time Off.
I’ve asked for us to Raise the Bar and we’re delivering. We’ve introduced and are working towards being Seekers of Better, and we’re clearly on that positive journey together. I promise to continue to share in the successes of this company with the people who do the work to make it real. These are but two rewards for just the past few months. The potential for more and escalating rewards in the future is limitless when we put in the time to grow, learn, improve, and work together.
